Before the war, Saddam Hussein supposedly ordered 4,000 Sony Playstions. Some people were afraid he wanted to link them together to make a supercomputer for military applications. The war in Iraq is a failure, like the many Modernist public housing high rises that have still haunt our cities. The Sony Playstation 3 has just came out, and consumers are obsessed with getting one. There are many signs that this is the end of U.S. empire. Will the big players take down everyday people like you and me with them? Will we play along with the corporate vision of planned obsoloesence, perpetually buying the new, irrationally desirable product? Or will we find our own way to play?
